R-Center Magnet Programs
R-Centers offer opportunities for youth to expand their horizons and explore their passions at magnet sites which feature structured activities in focused interest areas. Breakfast and lunch are included.
Register at any R-Center to take advantage these exciting summer programs.
Programs are FREE and run Monday – Friday, 8:30a.m.- 4 p.m.

Sports Center – At Sports Center, kids explore a new sport each week. They learn basic skills through age-appropriate clinics, try fitness exercises, practice as a team, play group games and compete in tournaments.

Creative Arts Workshop – In this arts-infused program, kids can unleash their imaginations. Local artists and trained staff lead daily activities exploring dance, theater, creative writing, music, arts and crafts and more.
Carter Street R-Center (500 Carter St; 428-7890)
The STEM Explosion – Exploring STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) subjects with hands-on activities, helps kids connect learning to their own lives and the world around them. This program will ignite and expand your child’s interest in science and technology.
Humboldt R- Center (1045 Atlantic Ave; 428-7294)
Earth Explorer Expeditions – In this program, kids will discover the great urban outdoors. They’ll explore local parks and natural areas and learn about nature, urban gardening, nutrition, healthy cooking, reusing and recycling and more.
Art Smart and Youth Sports R-Center Summer Camps
Youth Sports Camp – Kids will learn a new sport each week with a summer-long emphasis on teamwork, and sportsmanship and demonstrating positive behavior on and off the playing field. It is located at the Genesee Valley Field House, 1316 Genesee Street. Ages: 6 to 13 years old.
ArtSmart Summer Camp – This camp will keep your child creative, active and engaged with field trips, group games, theatre, dance, arts and more. It is located at the Lake Riley Lodge, 100 Norris Drive. Ages: 6 to 13 years old.

Zoo Camp

Zoo Teen
The ZooTeens program,gives young adults the opportunity to explore their interests in ecology and conservation. ZooTeens must participates in the program for a minimum of two days per week, 9:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. The program runs seven days a week. How many days a week you participate is up to you!

Ignite Cheer Tumbling Center
Four fun filled days of cheer, tumbling, games, lots of laughs and fun! The camps are run from Monday-Thursday from 9am-12pm with a snack during that time.

VolleyFX
VFX Camp is a volleyball camp teaching all basic skills of the sport. It is open to boys and girls entering grades K – 7th. The half-day camp is for grades K-4th and runs 9am – 12pm. The full day camp is for grades 5th-7th and runs from 9am – 3:30pm (there is a lunch break, but lunch is not provided).

SummerWrite
Every summer Writers & Books offers half-day and full-day workshops for creative young readers and writers ages 5 to 18 years. There are approximately 70 camps spread across a period of 9 weeks.
